May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Mental health is correlated, not only with your desicions and behaviors, but also your overall wellbeing and physical health. Teen mental health issues are common, ranging from anxiety, depression, ADHD, and eating disorders.
Some warning signs include extremem changes in your sleep or appetite, dramatic mood swings, overall low energy or social withdrawal, and a loss of interest in hobbies.
To counteract these issues, you can exercise regularly, reduce or elimiate alcohol and drug consumption, prioritize getting at leasrt six hours of sleep every night and eat a balance diet. You can also reduce screen time, especially time spent on social media or the news, spend more time outdoors and connect with others, such as family, friends and support groups, to help battle the loneliness. Finally, seeking proffesional help, such as a therapist or getting prescribed medicine to help.
