Flyer of the Month
April is Stress Awareness Month
Stress is your body's response to demanding situations, often triggering a fight or flight response. While some stress can be beneficial, and can motivate you, too much stress can be detrimental to your mental, emotional and physical health. Stress in teens is typically driven by academic pressure, social changes and social media and world events, which typically causes exhaustion and burnout.
Some warning signs that you're under too much stress are headaches, fatigue, being in a state of anxiety and changes in your sleep schedule.
To alleviate your stress, you should eat a balanced diet, go to bed earlier or wake up later (at least six to eight hours a night), practice your hobbies, spend time with loved ones and taking breaks from screens and electronics.
