Flyer of the Month
June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month
Alzheimer's Disease is a brain disorder where you slowly lose your memory and thinking skills because of abnormal protein deposits that build up in your brain that causes neurons to die and brain shrinkage. Alzheimer's is progressive, fatal brain disease, with no cure, and is a leading cause of death globally.
Some other brain diseases similar to Alzheimer's are Vascular Dementia and Parkinson's Disease. Vasuclar Dementia is when blood flow to your brain is reduced, causing clots and strokes, as well as issues with planning, concentration and sudden confusions.
Some warning signs of brain disease are sudden headaches, weakness or numbness of one side of the body, loss of vision, and slurred speech.
