About Us

The Hastings Health Action Project is the brain child of Akansha Muthukrishnan

Akansha is a sophomore at Hastings High School in Hastings on Hudson, NY. She comes from a family of doctors which has influenced her interest in medicine and biology. More recently, she has become more interested in neuroscience, particularly the mapping of neural networks in the brain.

Akansha's family has always been involved in supporting their local communities through volunteerism. In Hastings, there is no easy place to go to when looking for aid relating to specific health issues. Similiarly, there is no one place for people who have the time and resources to help others in medical need. Hastings Health Action is Akansha's attempt to help bridge this gap. 

Finally, Akansha also would like to focus on issues specific to teen health.
